Royal Rendezvous Highlights Video

January 25, 2011

We Are Cunard

Posted in: Updates

Thursday 13 January saw the youngest fleet at sea together for the first time in New York Harbour. This was the second time in Cunard’s history that three regal Queens called for a Royal Rendezvous in the same port since the first meeting of the Queens in 2008, and what a spectacular day it was!

Take a look at this video of highlights from the day, including their wonderful sailaway:

Alastair, Cunard continues to provide great entertainment for those of us at home.
Only one query. When we were on the maiden voyage of the Queen Elizabeth in October, we lost the internet from time to time, and it seems there are still satellite problems for the bridge web cam from time to timee, problems the other Queens don’t seem to have. Rather surprising, since the Queen Elizabeth should come with the latest technology

  2. Kylie Byrne says:

Wishing all Australians on the Queen Elizabeth a very Happy Australia Day. Enjoy! Alistar, your Blogs are amazing – everytime I read them I feel like I am part of this historic maiden voyage.

  3. Elizabeth Blakeslee says:

I used a laptop in my cabin. There was never a time when I could not sign on to the Internet. The connection was slowish, but we had been warned about that. I was satisfied with the communication but did hear of others who had trouble in the computer room.

  4. Sheila Hedderick says:

There is a cruise from Australia to Japan called (the cherry blossom cruise)will any of the Cunard Queens take on this route, Alastair can i make the request through you. Regards……sheila

  5. Geoffrey Palmer says:

HAVE JUST SEEN THE VIDEO OF THE 3 QUEENS. ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR – HISTORY IN THE MAKING.
CAN’T WAIT FOR THE QE2 TO ARRIVE IN AUSSIE. MY WIFE AND I WILL ENJOY CELEBRATING OUR 49TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY ON BOARD WHEN WE BOARD THE SHIP FROM SINGAPORE TO SOUTHAMPTON. ONLY 7 WEEKS (49 SLEEPS AWAY) OR THEREABOUTS!

  6. Keith & Janet Eaton says:

Excellent video clip on You Tube. Is it possible to download this video?

  7. Beryl Moss says:

What a fantastic video watching it made me feel very emotional. It must have been a truly amazing experience for all the guests on the 3 Queens. The web cams are a great way of following Queen Elizabeth and QM2 as they continue on their world voyages.

  8. Susan and Steve Yates says:

Have just watched the video of the fireworks. What memories! We were there, freezing to death, having arrived in New York on board the QM2 that morning, fresh from the Caribbean. It was a wonderful experience and we’re looking forward to our next time on board the QM2.

  9. Felicity Worth says:

Agreeing with Beryl and Paul about the webcam – half the fun is watching my mother’s world cruise through her eyes (that of the webcam) but so far since Southampton we have had very little vision except blackness – is this all down to poor internet connectivity and if so why ?

  10. Will Hutchins says:

Just one thing. This was the Third Royal Rendezvous, given that Queen Mary, QE2 and Queen Victoria were together in Southampton 22 April 2008…

  11. James and Moira Fergie says:

Viewing the recent three Queen’s visit to New York was spectacular and brought back thrilling memories of the last time the three Queens met in New York and being out on the balcony at 5.30 am in the morning on January 2008 on board Queen Victoria having sailed across in tandem with QE2 and meeting up with Queen Mary 2 just outside Brooklyn. That was a trip to remember. Just makes us proud to be Cunarders. Cannot wait until we are back on board once more.
